Under the Moho, down by Oman

The French led fieldtrip across the Ophiolite in Oman - the biggest and best piece of exposed oceanic crust in the world! It was a fantastic and enlightening fieldtrip!

Teaching has finished

Ahhhhh. Time to take a breath and slow down now that the teaching year has finished. This year was particularly busy with increased student numbers all round. I am looking forward to a break over Christmas and spending some time by the beach with my lovely family.

Just about to start the blogging process as a way to practice writing so that hopefully the process of writing scientific journal articles will become an easier task.

Just got back from a month's geology fieldwork in the Tienshan mountains in Xinjiang, China. Great trip and a very interesting place.
